Rihanna – Talk That Talk [Album Review]

Rihanna is back with her 6th Studio album “Talk That Talk. Rihanna’s 5th Studio album was released this Monday 21st November and goes in competition with Mary J. Blige’s 10th Studio “My Life II: The Journey Continues (Act I)”. Here’s what I thought of Rihanna’s new album “Talk That Talk”.

Rihanna’s first single “We Found Love” is a Chart success. However I do not like it as I am not into simply lyrics and Nursery Rhymes. The tracks success is hidden behind a banging beat and a really well edited and well directed video. However this song is not my cup of tea. Despite of me not liking her hit single I decided to check out the album.

Surprisingly – I do not like the album. Rihanna is clearly making something that I would like to call “Micro waved music”. If you knew the background behind this album you would know that Rihanna was going to do a “LOUD Deluxe Edition” and add some more tracks to her “LOUD” album. However she decided to release a new album. If you listen to “Talk that Talk” it clearly sounds like “LOUD Part II”. I personally believe that this was a bad idea, as Rihanna usually brings out a new sound on every album. However it looks like she doesn’t care! Rihanna is clearly looking for Hits after Hit after Hit, money, money, money. That’s what it looks like to me.

I didn’t enjoy the album. I felt like she was screaming notes at me and was just feeding me Nursery Rhymes. Despite her giving me a bunch of Nursery Rhymes I was really feeling “Birthday Cake” which is an interlude but needs to be turned into a full track very soon. Despite it being Recycled I really enjoyed “Roc Me Out” however it does sound like “Rude Boy” from her previous album “Rated R”. Once again Micro waved Music!

The whole album is not something that you haven’t heard before. It’s typical pop music. I didn’t enjoy the album at all. However if you’re into the Rihanna hype then you will love this album, BUT – If you are into the Rihanna hype and enjoyed this album, then I am really worried about the Music Industry as a whole. I now understand what my Grandparents meant when they said “Music these day’s just isn’t the same”. Give me an old Mary J. Blige album any day over this “Talk that Talk” bullsh*t.

Tracks that made my iPod

  • Talk That Talk (Feat. Jay-Z)
  • Cockiness (I Love It)
  • Birthday Cake
  • Rock me Out
  • Watch n’ Learn
  • Farewell

6/15 Tracks.

Adele – Someone Like You [Official Music Video]

Even though Adele had a LIVE performance for the video for “Someone Like You” she has decided to take the directed approach. Check out the dark visual:

Adele’s album has been breaking records. She won a VMA just for sitting on a chair in “Rolling In the Deep” don’t under-estimate this chick. There is still power in Quality music. Thank God for that, I was starting to think I was going to have to “find love in a hopeless place”… Opps.

Rihanna’s new debut single “We Found Love” which is set to be the first single from her new album which is set to be released November 21st premiered hours ago on Capital FM. Check out what Rihanna has to offer.

Rihanna was going to Re-release “LOUD”. However things changed and now she is set to release a whole new album. From the sounds of this new single it would have been WISE for them to have Re-Released “LOUD”. If the tracks on this new album are just like this single then to be honest – I don’t want to listen to it. It seems like Rihanna is giving us Microwaved music. She has been known for changing her sound every once in a while but if this album is going to be a repeat of “LOUD” then I don’t want to hear it. Especially since “LOUD” was my least favourite album from her.

Rihanna needs to take a break. I was here for her during the era’s of “Good Girl Gone Bad” and “Rated R” but now she’s all up in my grill and I just need her to disappear for a WHILE.

Expect a New Keyshia Cole album around February 2012 !!

Yesterday night Rap-Up was first to announce that my homegirl Keyshia Cole is looking to release her 5th Studio album Next year February!

Keyshia has been telling us on Twitter that she’s been working with Ester Dean who’s the person who wrote hits like Rihanna’s “What’s my Name” and Nicki Minaj’s first hit “Superbass”. Keyshia has also said that this album is nothing like, Calling All Hearts, A Different Me, Just Like You or either The Way It Is. Keyshia has also been in studio day in and day out. She has been working hard and juggling her wedding which is this week Sunday! “Calling All Hearts” didn’t sell as much as we all wanted and didn’t get the attention that we wanted however with Keyshia’s new management I believe she is reaching for new heights! It has said that Keyshia will like to release some new music by December this year. I can’t wait to hear what she’s going to bring to the table this time around!

“LETS GET THIS MONEY!” *In Keyshia’s voice*

Cher Lloyd – Swagger Jagger [New Music]

So the X-Factor Contestant – Cher Lloyd has finally brought her new song to the surface. I Didn’t like her when she was apart of X-Factor and I Don’t think I’m going to like her after hearing this new song called “Swagger Jagger”. Please check out what Cher Lloyd has to offer:

Here is what Cher Lloyd has to say about the song being leaked.

i’ve never been this upset ever!

i worked so hard, and people wanna ruin it for me, if you wanted to hurt me you’ve done a great job.

please dont do this to me. i wish i was at home with my family, i’ve been through enough this year.

WELL!  I don’t know WHO Cher Lloyd is calling a “Swagger Jagger” when she CLEARLY copies everything what Cheryl Cole/Rihanna does! Tattoo’s, Hairstyles! The whole lot. So I guess she is singing this song to herself. This song right here…. is just… It sounds like a NURSERY RHYME! If this is her official Single then I cannot WAIT to see the video, because the day I see the video is the day that tears stream down my face in LAUGHTER.

Swagger Jagger my ass.

Rihanna – Man Down [Music Video]

Rihanna has finally released the video to “Man Down”. Believe me the video was WORTH the wait!

This by far is Rihanna’s best video! It defiantly is a good concept for the song. I think she’ll get awards for this video let alone the song (Which by the way was co-written by Shontelle Layne “Impossible” singer). I’m glad she went back to her ROOTS on this video. You can tell Rihanna was loving the Caribbean environment! Making me wish I was there with her! I have to give Rihanna Props for this video!
